On December 10, a delegation led by Principal Song Hongshan of Jinfuwan Primary School, Shangnan County, brought students to Shaanxi Shangnan Dongzheng Chemical Co., Ltd. for a unique and engaging science education study tour. The visit was also an important component of the school’s “Big Love for Young Hearts · Warm Winter Program,” a charitable initiative focused on educational support and experiential learning.

Shaanxi Shangnan Dongzheng Chemical Co., Ltd. warmly welcomed Principal Song, the teachers, and the students. The Company has long attached great importance to science popularization and education, recognizing the vital role of science and technology in national development, social progress, and individual growth. In 2019, the Company was awarded the title of Science Education Practice Base by the Shangluo Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, and in 2022, the National Lacquer Science and Technology Museum was designated as a branch of the Shangluo Science and Technology Museum. In addition, the Company has established extensive industry–university–research cooperation with a number of domestic and international institutions, including Northwest A&F University, the Institute of Food Function Research, Shaanxi Normal University, the Chinese Academy of Forestry, the Shaanxi Raw Lacquer Research Institute, and the Nanjing Institute of Forest Products Chemical Industry, forming a strong collaborative innovation network.

During the activity, company representatives introduced the students to the lacquer tree, an ancient and fascinating species with rich historical and cultural significance as well as considerable economic value. Guided by staff members, the students then visited the National Lacquer Science and Technology Museum, where they explored the history and development of lacquer and experienced over 8,000 years of lacquer culture.

This science education study tour not only provided students with a valuable learning opportunity but also inspired their enthusiasm for science. Through this hands-on experience, the students gained a deeper understanding of the lacquer tree industry and developed a growing interest in science and knowledge. Many expressed their hope of one day contributing to the industry by discovering new value through innovation.
Finally, best wishes were extended to the students for a rewarding and enjoyable experience. It is believed that through the joint efforts of schools and enterprises, science education will continue to take root in the hearts of young learners, laying a solid foundation for cultivating future scientific and technological talent.
